What is IRNSS / NavIC satellite navigation system?

NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation / IRNSS):

• System Overview: Independent regional satellite navigation system developed by ISRO consisting of 7 active satellites (3 Geostationary + 4 Geosynchronous).
• Coverage: Provides positioning service over India and region extending up to 1,500 km from its boundary.
• Services: Standard Positioning Service (SPS for civilian use) and Restricted Service (RS for military/strategic forces).
