What is Supercomputing and National Supercomputing Mission?

National Supercomputing Mission (NSM):

• Launch: Launched in 2015 jointly by MeitY and DST, implemented by C-DAC and IISc Bangalore.
• Objective: Build a network of indigenous supercomputers to empower national academic and R&D institutions.
• Key Supercomputers in India: PARAM Siddhi-AI, AIRAWAT (ranked in global top 100), PARAM Ananta, PARAM Ganga, and PARAM Shivay.
