Semiconductor & Types (n-type vs p-type):

  • Semiconductor: Material (Silicon, Germanium) with electrical conductivity between conductors and insulators.
  • n-type Semiconductor: Doped with pentavalent impurities (Phosphorus, Arsenic); majority charge carriers are free electrons.
  • p-type Semiconductor: Doped with trivalent impurities (Boron, Aluminium); majority charge carriers are holes.
