• Definition: Apparent change in frequency or pitch of a wave observed whenever there is relative motion between wave source and observer.
• Sound Application: Pitch sounds higher as siren approaches and lower as it recedes.
• Light Application (Astronomy): Red Shift (source moving away, expanding universe) and Blue Shift (source approaching).
